The Custom Engineering department at Cytiva is responsible for delivering customized downstream hardware and software solutions used in Biopharma development and manufacturing. Currently, we are looking for a Senior Manager to lead our Functional Design team in Uppsala. In this role, you will manage a team consisting of 23 Lead System Designers who are responsible for functionality and compliance of our hardware products to Cytiva's customers worldwide.
This position reports to the Senior Design Manager in Custom Engineering and is an onsite role located in Uppsala.
What you will do:
Lead and mentor a team of 23 individuals that supports projects with functionality and compliance of our hardware products.
Operational leadership to ensure the team provides timely and adequate support in projects with functionality, compliance and life cycle management activities.
Act as a key stakeholder in design strategy and in the development of custom hardware solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business targets and priorities.
Occasional international travel to customers and Cytiva offices.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, leveraging continuous improvement tools and methods.

Who you are:
B.Sc or M.Sc. degree within relevant technical field.
Experience from Engineering, Product development or Application use of Large scale equipment for biopharma industry.
Proven leadership and people management skills with experience from line management or project management roles.
Previous experience in working with external customers and suppliers and notified bodies.
Demonstrated experience in driving process improvement initiatives with an ability to apply data to define actions and support decisions.
Proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and oral, is a requirement.

The Downstream Hardware R&D organization is growing, we are excited to welcome our next Senior Manager to lead one of our Mechanical engineering development teams.

The Service Project Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating our organization’s activities within PLP (Product Lifecycle Process) development projects, in collaboration with the primary project leaders, our service engineering leads, and the extended service teams. This role will significantly impact improvement initiatives within the global service readiness engineering organization. The Service PMO is also responsible for overseeing, developing, and maintaining the high-level service processes related to PLP.
This position report to the Sr Manager Service PMO and is part of the Global Service Readiness Engineering Team located in Uppsala, Sweden and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
Coordinate execution of PLP (including New Product Development, Product Sustainment, and Discontinuation projects) activities and deliverables for Service
Provide input to the strategic project view for the service readiness engineering team
Interact with main project leaders for service planning, execution, status updates and deliverables
Providing high quality service deliverables within the scope of PLP projects and Global Service Readiness Engineering internal activities/projects

Who we’re looking for
You are a senior engineer who blends deep cloud infrastructure expertise with strong software development skills. You think ahead, ask the right questions, and make pragmatic trade-offs to deliver reliable, high-quality software.
To succeed in this role, you have: Built cloud services in JavaScript/Typescript. Able to collaborate across C++, Python or React is a plus.
Proven experience operating live cloud services, with hands-on experience improving monitoring and alerting, conducting stress/performance testing, and strengthening resilience and failover.
Cloud and cluster expertise across Azure, AWS, or GCP, including Kubernetes traffic & routing fundamentals.
Secure coding practices for cloud apps and can configure application edge configurations (gateways/load balancers—TLS/HTTPS, basic DNS, private endpoints).
Worked with Infrastructure as Code, like Terraform and Helm.

Nice-to-haves (any of):
GitOps practices and tooling (e.g., ArgoCD).
Jenkins experience.
Multi-region design experience.

About the Role
Your primary responsibilities will consist of testing our software products together with creating and maintaining test cases. We use a mix of manual and automated testing, where you will actively take part in improving our efficiency by shifting the balance towards automation. Your colleagues will be a group of great team players who work together to reach the goals we set up.
Our product supports a wide range of microcontroller architectures and runs on both Linux and Windows, so you will get to work in a variety of environments. To test components related to our proprietary debug probe, I-jet and debugger, C-SPY, we have a hardware test rig which you and the test team will own, maintain, and expand.
We work in an agile methodology where we are eager to find new ways of working smarter. This also applies to our test procedures, which you will be improving and maintaining together with the team.
Working closely with the other teams in our engineering department, you will take part in test planning and help educating best quality practices. As a member of our test team, you play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive the highest quality experience.
